The only modules you need are the grappling hook, the drill, the depth module, and an optional thermal reactor.
Since a collision with the Prawn can seriously damage the module, it is best. The module can only pick up the Prawn Suit if it has power, meaning the cab must be connected during the docking procedure. It requires three Nickel, two Kyanite, Plasteel Ingot and one MK2 upgrade. If you go beyond the lost river, then the PRAWN is probably the best vehicle. The Docking Module allows the player to attach a Prawn Suit to the back of the module and carry it along while piloting their Seatruck. The final Seatruck MK3 upgrade allows you to go to a depth of 1,000 meters. It can only be crafted using the Modification Station, which you can find a scannable fragment of while Finding Outpost Zero during the mission to Find and Cure the Frozen Leviathan. I hadn't even noticed the falling being different, there weren't that many big drops in BZ compared to the original, lots more in the way as you drop. Upgrades to vehicles are unlocked when you first build the base model, like the Seatruck and Prawn Suit. The Prawn suit seems much better in BZ to me, the jump jet seems better even without the upgrade, and it has a boost now.
